About me

My name is Emilie Wheeler, but some of you might know me as Emilie Holmes. The spelling of the first name, by the way, is French, in case you were wondering.

If you don't like animals, newspapers, the media, liberal Mormons, gardening, feminists, the Utah Jazz, Utah State Aggies, occasional religious thoughts or (sometimes) depressing analytical assessments, this blog might not be for you. You'll get it a little bit of all that and then some if you stick around. Notice the convenient "or" in that list, however. I try to be a "big-tent," inclusive kind of person, so if you're fond of anything on that list, I'd love to have you.

Anyway, I am a newspaper editor in Northern Utah who was born and raised in Utah. Garrett, who was most definitely not born and raised in Utah, and I married in late 2004 and have lived in Cache Valley ever since. We do not have children, but we'd like them. For now, we hang out with Lucy and Jet, our strange but lovable cats.

If you see me around, I might pretend I don't notice you. It's only because I'm shy, so please say hi.

I'm also on Twitter at @emiliescribbles and on Facebook.
